Course aim
To gain a thorough understanding of the COSHH regulations and identify materials that fall under them and how to risk assess them. Delegates will also gain an understanding of workplace control measures and health surveillance.
Who should attend
Delegates who work with or may be exposed to materials that fall under the COSHH regulations: chemicals, products containing chemicals, fumes, dusts, vapours, mists, nanotechnology, gases and asphyxiating gases, and biological agents (germs).

Certification

What does COSHH stand for?
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, a UK regulation that covers chemicals, fumes, dusts, vapours, mists, biological agents and asphyxiating gases in the workplace.
How long is the course?
Half a day, at our Salford training centre or on your site.
Do I need COSHH training if I just handle cleaning products?
Yes. Most cleaning products fall under COSHH, and the regulations apply to anyone whose work brings them into contact with hazardous substances of any kind.
How long does the certificate last?
We recommend refresher training every three years, sooner if substances or processes change.
Is health surveillance covered?
Yes. We cover occupational health surveillance, monitoring exposure and the basic duty to assess and reduce risk.
