Anybody who works in an environment where oils, chemicals, fuels or other hazardous liquids are used, stored or handled, and who may be required to respond to or manage spill prevention and control.

- Legal and environmental duties and responsibilities
- Control measures (bunding, IBCs, interceptors, drain protectors and similar)
- Types of spill kits and when to use them
- Drain coding
- Disposal of sorbents and decontamination procedures
- Practical session
Certification
Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a Frameworks Certificate of Training.

Who needs Spill Control training?
Anyone working with or around oils, fuels, chemicals or other hazardous liquids: site teams, fuel bowser operators, plant operators, anyone who could be the first responder to a leak.
How long is the course?
Half a day, at our Salford training centre or on your site, where we can train with your actual spill kits.
Is the practical session hands-on?
Yes. We cover spill kit deployment, sorbent use, drain protection and decontamination procedures in a practical session.
What guidance is covered?
The Pollution Prevention Guidelines, environmental duties and responsibilities, and the relevant Environment Agency expectations for site spills.
Are drain protectors and bunding explained?
Yes. Control measures including bunding, IBCs, interceptors and drain protection are part of the content.
