Frequently asked questions
Does this NOCN Level 1 award give me a green CSCS card?
Yes. The NOCN Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is the recognised qualification route to the green CSCS Labourer card. Once you've completed the course and passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, you can apply for your card.
How long is the course?
One day at our Salford training centre or on your site. Most learners walk out with the certificate the same day.
Do I need to pass an exam?
Yes. The course finishes with a short multiple-choice assessment. We prep you through the day, so you walk in ready.
Is the CITB Health Safety and Environment test included?
The CITB HS&E test is a separate booking through the CITB, and you need to pass it as well as our course to get your CSCS card. If you'd rather not deal with any of that yourself, we offer a full start-to-finish CSCS route, covering the course, the CITB test booking and the card application. Get in touch and we'll handle the lot.
How long does the CSCS card last once I've got it?
The first Green Labourer card issued via this route now lasts two years, under the current CSCS scheme rules. Renewals thereafter last five years and require you to pass the current CITB HS&E test again.
Can you deliver this course on our site for a group?
Yes. We deliver across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and beyond. Tell us your dates and numbers via the contact form and we'll quote.
