Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this and the Level 2 qualification?
Manual Handling Awareness is a half-day awareness course suitable for most workplaces. Safe Moving and Handling Level 2 is a full-day Ofqual-regulated qualification, recommended where higher-risk or repetitive manual handling is part of the job.
How long is the course?
Half a day, at our Salford training centre or on your site.
Is it practical or classroom-based?
Both. We cover the regulations and theory, then move into practical lifting and carrying technique. Wear comfortable clothing and bring flat shoes.
Is this accepted for warehouse, logistics or healthcare work?
Yes. It's a general manual handling awareness course and covers the principles applicable to construction, logistics, warehousing, healthcare and most other sectors.
How long does the certificate last?
We recommend refresher training every two to three years, in line with HSE guidance.
Can you deliver it for our whole team on site?
Yes. Tell us numbers and dates via the contact form and we'll quote for on-site delivery anywhere in Greater Manchester.
